Shobana in Kochadaiyaan?

Rajinikanth'sKochadaiyaanis getting bigger and better! The latest to join the cast list is yesteryear diva and well-known classical dancer Shobana. However more details about her role has been kept under wraps. So it looks likeKochadaiyaan will be a treat for 'Thalaivar' fans, after all who can forget the sizzling chemistry between Rajni and Shobana in Mani Ratnam's Thalapathi.

Kochadaiyaan may have Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif as the leading lady. Actor Aadhi is also expected to play prominent role in the film.

The film is directed by Superstar's daughter Soundarya Ashwin and K.S. Ravikumar has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film. Ratnavelu is the cinematographer while A.R. Rahman will compose it's music.

Kochadaiyaan to begin on Feb 15?

Superstar Rajinikanth's much awaitedKochadaiyaanis all set to go on floors on Feb 15, 2012. The film is directed by Superstar's daughter Soundarya and ace director K.S. Ravikumar has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film. The film is produced jointly by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment Limited. The film is likely to grace theatres on August 2012. Katrina Kaif is the leading lady while A.R. Rahman will compose it's music.

Aadhi in Kochadaiyaan?

Recently we have reported that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif will star opposite Superstar in his much awaitedKochadaiyaan, directed by his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth. Kochadaiyaan is India's first 3D film with motion capture technology and director K.S. Ravikumar has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film. The film is produced jointly by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment Limited.

Now the latest buzz is that the makers have approached Aadhi to play a prominent role in the film. It is said that Rajni will play the role of a king who is also an ardent devotee of lord Shiva. There are also reports that Superstar will sport long hairs for this film.The first look of the film is likely to be unveiled towards the end of this month. Music maestro A.R.Rahman has been roped in to compose music for this project.

Amy Jackson to try action roles

 British model Amy Jackson who made her acting debut with Madarasapattinam is back to Kollywood. The actress will once again team up with director Vijay in Thaandavam, which will also have Vikram and Anushka in lead roles. The latest buzz is that the pretty actress will take on an action role in Thaandavam.

Meanwhile her first Bollywood venture Ekk Deewana Tha is likely to grace theatres in February. The film, which is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, is directed by Gautham Menon and A.R. Rahman is the music director.

Kajal Aggarwal has no time for marriage

        Kajal Aggarwal, the queen of Tollywood had a dream run in 2011, with blockbuster releases in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in 2011. This pretty lass is currently busy with big projects in Tamil and Telugu. And like in the case most of her contempraries, the rumours about her marriage has started doing the rounds in the media. But interestingly the actress has no time for marriage. When asked about her marriage plans, she said, "Where is the time, dude? I wish I had dates, I would have definitely tied the knot."

Kajal is currently busy with K.V. Anand's Maatraan opposite Suriya, Murugadoss' Thuppakkiopposite Vijay and Sreenu Vaitla's untitled project.

Mankatha 100th Day celebration

What better one could ask for on a Saturday night !!!

The Mankathateam including director Venkat Prabhu, actors Premgi, Vaibhav, Mahat, Ashwin, Aravindh Akash and editor Praveen K L where present at Anna Centenary Library to witness the grand finale of inaugural Short Film Gala 2011 (SFG) on 10th December. SFG is a short film competition organized by The Sight media and Filmgala. The stage was set to give away SFG awards and the grand celebration of Mankatha 100th day.

The ever cool Mankatha team arrived at the venue around 6.30 in the evening and occupied the elite seats in front of the world class stage at Kotturpuram. With Badava Gopi as the host it was all set to be an exciting few hours. Gopi is not new to Venkat Prabhu as he was the commentator in the movie Chennai 600028.

The event was filled with dance shows from various groups which set the stage on fire. The singing of 'super singer' Sathya Prakash impressed one and all. Venkat Prabhu and company gave away the awards to the winners from SFG 2011. The surprise element in the event was Gangai Amaren's surprise entry arranged by The Sight media. The 500 odd crowd went mad after the team took the stage along with veteran film maker Gangai Amaren, to declare theMankatha 100th day celebration by cutting a massive cake .

Gangai Amaren who is renowned for his effective speech skills, didn't disappoint any. He had lots of words to praise his sons Venkat Prabhu and Premgi Ameran and the super coolMankatha team. He also revealed the fact that it was him who gave the most innovative and successful idea of portraying Ajith with grey hair yet not loosing his charm in the filmMankatha.

Venkat Prabhu said he was very much impressed by short films of recent times. He said that short films are the portals into the industry. He specifically mentioned that film makers today are looking at short films for actors, directors and technicians. He said that he has a 'Big' plan for short films which he is currently working on. He said that he did not want to reveal the plan till it was completely worked out, he said. He also lauded the organizers for the event.

All the excitement came to an end by 10.30pm. Venkat Prabhu and team were present till the last man got out of the auditorium.

         The trailer of Karthi Sivakumar'sSaguni, which was screened with Vettai, has created a lot of buzz in the industry. The film is expected to be a first-of-its-kind political thriller in Tamil cinema. Meanwhile it is now heard that the actor will star in a short film for the Cyber Crime Department. The short film is to create awarness among public on cyber crime. According to sources the actor did it free of cost despite his busy schedule. In this short video, Karthi will explain about the various methods to safeguard from online frauds.

' I'll be back ', claims Vadivelu

The almost-forgotten comedian Vadivelu has put up a brave face indeed.  Thecomedian, who was an integral part of almost every second film hitting the screens not so long ago, hasn’t had a release in almost 10 months except for Prashanth’s Mambattiyan and Ramarajan’s Medhai.  Both the films, which released in a space of few weeks, were launched more than two years ago and had been lying unreleased for a long time.

Vadivelu’s bad spell started in the run-up to last year’s April Assembly elections in the State when he campaigned extensively for DMK, the erstwhile ruling party, and its allies.  As it turned out later, the DMK was routed in a historical verdict given by the people.  As such, Vadivelu’s position became untenable as he couldn’t go back to DMK nor seek friendly ‘atmosphere’ in AIADMK.

Apparently not to irk the present day ruler, not many producers and directors are willing to cast Vadivelu in their films.  This has resulted in an ‘unofficial’ boycott of the comedianwho hasn’t signed up any film for the past several months.  Vadivelu, who appeared in a Natham Court in connection with a ‘violation’ case filed against him by the Election Commission, spoke to newsmen outside the Court.

“I shall continue to act in films what else would I do At present, I’m playing a hero in a new film and have utilized the gap in a meaningful manner to prepare for the role. The hiatus is a planned one on my part (?!) ..I shall continue to act I’ll always be there to entertain the people.  I don’t want to say anything about the present political situation,” said Vadivelu.

When asked to comment about rumours of him willing to align with the ruling AIADMK, Vadivelu said that he can’t reply to skeptic questions.

Genelia’s wedding date confirmed

                          

           


   Actress Genelia's wedding date has been confirmed! She will marry her long-time boyfriend Ritesh Deshmukh on February 3.

Venue is Grand Hyatt in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. The marriage will be followed by a reception on February 4 at the same venue. The sangeet ceremony will be held on January 31 at the Lands End Hotel in Bandra.

Reportedly, a group of Ritiesh's close friends including Housefull 2 producer Sajid, his wife Wardha, Fardeen and his wife Natasha will be hosting a joint pre-wedding party for the couple on January 24 at Royalty in Bandra.
